helping teens build a joyful relationship with food & their bodies

hi! I’m Gel.

I’m a clinical nutritionist who is here to teach YOU how you can celebrate your body today! Come with me and discover the joy in nutrition, the fun in cooking and the light in self-compassion.

how we help you celebrate your body

We have a vision to give every young person the opportunity to break free from toxic diet culture and unrealistic beauty standards by sprinkling joy into simple nutrition advice for teens so they can learn how to appreciate and value themselves just as they are.

school workshops

This is Your Body offers engaging, joyful and evidence-based presentations and workshops designed to educate teens about nutrition, body image, mental health, and wellbeing. Our presentations are full of stories, facts, activities and snacks (of course!!).

body bop program

Our six-week 1:1 Body Bop Program aims to lighten the mental load of teens, by teaching them how to build a healthy relationship with food and their bodies. We work 1:1 with your teen to support them with their health, plus we give them exclusive access to our community where they can learn to cook and celebrate their bodies alongside a group of fun and like-minded individuals.

ways you can celebrate your body

  • Today I love, appreciate, and accept all of me, just as I am in this moment.

  • I appreciate my body and what it does for me every day.

  • My worth is not determined by what others think of me or my body.

  • The food I choose to eat does not define me as a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ person.

  • Today I will be kind to my body and honour the messages it sends me.

  • I am allowed to eat the food I enjoy.

  • Today I will focus on what I can add to my diet rather than what I can take away.

  • This week I will choose to wear clothes that make me feel comfortable and confident.

  • It is okay if I don’t always feel confident in my body.

  • I have the freedom to enjoy the food that I eat without guilt.

  • I trust that my body knows what to do with the food that I eat.

  • What my body looks like is nobody else’s business.

  • You don’t always have to meal prep, sometimes it’s nice to embrace what you feel like.

  • A gentle reminder that there are going to be days when we feel confident and others when we don’t.

  • Movement can be enjoyable.

  • Self-care is just as important as what we eat.

  • This week I am going to make time to do something that brings me joy.

  • We are so much more than what we look like.

  • I am proud of my body.

  • My body is my home.

  • This week I will shift my focus from what I look like on the outside to how I feel on the inside.

  • Choosing to rest is just as important as choosing to move.

  • My mental health is as much a priority as my physical health.

  • Remember, our health involves so much more than just food choices.

  • Movement can be a celebration of what my body can do.

  • Remember, our worth is not defined by the way that we look.

our impact

  • “I didn’t realise until today that I had been struggling with my body image. I felt I could relate to Gel’s story - it really opened my eyes. It really assisted in shifting my perspective of my own personal struggles with body image. Now I feel so empowered and uplifted.”

    - Year 9 Student, Santa Maria College

  • “This was a wonderful opportunity to get into the kitchen while learning about health and nutrition from an expert. I really enjoyed cooking along with everyone and hearing Angelica’s advice and experiences.”

    – Student, Strathmore Secondary College

  • “Angelica is relatable, creative, engaging and resourceful and caters to different year levels. She always maintains a positive, can-do attitude, organised, punctual and professional and authentic manner.”

Nella Cirillo, Student Wellbeing Coordinator, Catholic Regional College

  • “It really hit me when Gel spoke about her experience of when she stopped eating to make herself look better as this is something that I have experienced myself.”
