Tier 1 · every student
Our whole-cohort student programs give every student in the year level the foundations for a joyful relationship with food and their body.
Tier 2 · the students who need more
Body Bop, our first Tier 2 intervention program, is six weeks of small-group support for students showing early signs of struggle.
Body Bop works alongside your school's existing wellbeing team. You identify the students who may benefit from early support. We provide Body Bop, the six-week small-group experience, practical learning, reflection and support. Together, we monitor student needs and identify when additional support or referral may be appropriate.

the evidence from 2026
Around a third of Australian adolescents (31.6%) engage in disordered eating behaviours, such as restrictive dieting, in any given year.
Body Bop ran three times in 2026. Each iteration used an anonymous pre- and post-program survey incorporating the full Body Appreciation Scale-2 and an adapted Intuitive Eating Scale-2. The strongest gains were in trusting the body’s hunger, fullness and food cues, and in connecting food choices to how the body feels.
Body Bop builds on our Tier 1 whole-cohort sessions, where 85% of students said they felt inspired to appreciate their body after our session in 2026.
Prevalence figure: National Eating Disorders Collaboration, citing Sparti et al. (2019), International Journal of Eating Disorders. Our 2026 Body Bop evaluation summary is available on request.

your facilitator
I’m Gel, a Registered Clinical Nutritionist (BHSc) and the founder of This is Your Body. I run every Body Bop session myself, working alongside your school’s wellbeing team.
It is my role to listen and learn from you and your students so I can understand their challenges, concerns, and the areas that they would like support. Throughout the program I work collaboratively with the wellbeing team to ensure they are across conversations we’re having in the sessions. I also interact with parents weekly to support them in continuing the conversation at home.

Wanting to be ‘skinny’ and wanting to be ‘healthy’ are two very very different things.
The health industry is hung up on the view that being skinny is the ticket to health and it couldn’t be further from the truth. We all are biochemically unique, which means that all our bodies are going to look, move and feel different. Our DNA is our genetic blueprint. It determines characteristics like our eye colour, hair colour, whether we have curly hair or straight hair. It also determines our weight and height. Even if your teen ate the same foods, did the same amount of exercise, used the same products and got the same amount of sleep as their best friend, the physical and psychological outcome would be completely different.
It is important that our teens learn to value their health over their physical experience. Research has shown that when young people shift the focus from their ‘weight’ to their ‘health’ they are more likely to:
Maintain relatively stable growth and development.
Move their body in a way that is enjoyable (not focusing on changing their body).
Be in tune with their bodies need for rest, comfort, healthcare and movement.
Have high self-esteem
Prioritise getting enough food over having to get “healthy” foods.
Have lower rates of disordered eating and eating disorders.
Collectively, these behaviours move your young person away from diet culture and towards a life where they can feel proud of and appreciate the body they’re in!
