FOUNDATIONS · YEARS 5–6

head into high school with a strong foundation

Part 1 · Year 5 · my amazing body

How characters in books, movies and TV shape the way we see bodies. Students learn how and why our bodies change, how to celebrate the body they're in, and how to support a friend.

Part 2 · Year 6 · food for joy

The role food plays in our lives, from energy and sport to culture and celebrations. Students learn to spot red and green flags in health advice, and how fibre gives long-lasting energy.

LEVEL 1 · YEARS 7 & 8

feeling at home in a changing body

Part 1 · body image in my teen years

What body image is and who it affects, Gel's own story, and how body commentary, childhood film and TV, fashion trends, AI and social media shape the way we see ourselves. Students leave with practical steps towards body appreciation and kind language to support a friend.

Part 2 · fuelling a growing body

Why energy needs change through puberty, how digestion works, and how to listen to hunger and fullness at school. Students learn the basics of macro and micronutrients and how to build a breakfast and lunchbox that suits their culture and preferences.

LEVEL 2 · YEARS 9 & 10

feed your bugs, filter your feed

Part 1 · marketing & misinformation

How media coverage and the marketing of processed and ultra-processed foods shape the choices we make. Students learn to read food packaging and social media food and supplement marketing with a critical eye, and how to keep a good relationship with food amid the noise.

Part 2 · food & mood

What the SMILES trial found about food and mood, and the role the gut microbiome and vagus nerve play in mental health. Students identify plant foods to add to their breakfast and lunchbox, and reflect on sleep, movement and connection.

LEVEL 3 · YEARS 11 & 12

skills for life after school

Part 1 · building sustainable health practices

The role food plays in attention, focus, stress and the immune system, and how to choose foods for stable energy. Students identify meals they can prepare on the weekend and learn an approach to meal prep that's realistic in a busy senior year.

Part 2 · meal prep in practice & senior cook-off

MasterChef style: in teams, students turn macro and micronutrients into a breakfast, lunch and snack they can repeat at home, racing to get it all done. This session needs a food tech kitchen, and ingredients are invoiced separately.

every session includes

FLEXIBLE BOOKING

ways to book

Schools that book multiple sessions or year levels are rewarded. We'll talk it through when we chat.

a single session

Any session, any year level. A great way to start.

a two-part program

Part 1 and Part 2 of a level, so students apply what they learnt and we build on it together.

a full day

Such as a Year 9 activity day, run as two identical days to reach your whole cohort.

SMALL-GROUP PROGRAM

body bop

Our Tier 2 early-intervention program: six weeks, in your school, for groups of up to 10 students showing early signs of concern about their body image or relationship with food.

Your wellbeing team identifies the students, we run the program, and together we monitor needs and refer on where needed.
